CASE Apocalypse: Building a New Tomorrow – A Summer Camp of Creativity, Innovation, and Discovery
Step into a world where creativity, innovation, and resilience collide. At the CASE immersive summer camp, campers will face a fictional apocalyptic scenario and explore how the arts, sciences, and education can help rebuild a better future.
Guided by expert faculty and professionals, they’ll tackle real-world challenges, discover how these fields shape our world today, and learn how to apply them to create a brighter tomorrow.
Camp Activities: Explore the Arts, Sciences, and Education
During CASE Apocalypse: Building a New Tomorrow, campers will dive into a wide range of disciplines within the arts, sciences, and education. Through hands-on activities, thought-provoking challenges, and creative problem-solving, they’ll develop the skills needed to tackle global challenges. Campers will also connect with peers, experience campus life, and gain a deeper understanding of how the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education is preparing students to innovate and lead in a constantly changing world.
The Program
Campers will begin each day with inspiring lectures and interactive demonstrations from faculty members across various disciplines. In the afternoons, they will participate in hands-on workshops where they’ll work in teams to apply the knowledge they’ve gained, developing strategies to rebuild society in the aftermath of an imagined apocalypse. Evenings will feature social events, recreational activities, and opportunities to connect with other college-bound students, giving campers a taste of what it’s like to be part of a vibrant campus community.
Daily Schedule
- Morning: Engaging lectures and interactive demonstrations led by faculty from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Education.
- Afternoon: Collaborative workshops where campers will build their teams' post-apocalyptic plans.
- Evening: Social activities, recreational opportunities, and community-building events.
Explore Five Academic Disciplines
Campers will choose from five academic disciplines within CASE, each offering hands-on, immersive experiences. These disciplines are designed to give campers a deeper understanding of the knowledge and skills required to build a better future. Before camp begins, an overview of all available disciplines will be shared, and campers will select the areas they are most passionate about. While we can’t guarantee placement in every camper’s top choice, we’ll work to ensure they have the opportunity to explore their interests in depth.
