    Overview

Northern Illinois University (NIU) offers unique STEM/STEAM camps for all students entering grades 2-12 will benefit and grow from attending a STEAM camp. Our camp staff are trained to support and encourage campers with a wide variety of learning skills and abilities, including high achieving students and students with special needs.

Day camps for our elementary students cap at 12 campers per session. Our camps for middle grade students cap at 18 campers per session. Our camps for high school students cap at 24 campers per session maximum. Each week, multiple camp sessions are offered resulting in up to 60 students total on campus. Throughout the camps, students often work together in small groups to complete design challenges, laboratory investigations and other activities. The adult-camper ratio is approximately 1 to 10.
