    Overview

Outward Bound USA is the leading provider of outdoor education programs that allow young people to explore their personal potential, since 1962. From expeditions in some of the most remote locations in the U.S. to programs in local schools and neighborhoods, young people nationwide are cultivating a passion for learning, and discovering greater success in school, work and life.

Our Classic expeditions push students physically, socially and emotionally. Often when they think they’ve reached their limits, they find there is more within them. Students discover their passion; dig deep; and master skills – both technical and interpersonal. Surrounded by the pristine natural world and a crew of adventurous peers, students work as a team to achieve goals and learn skills.

    • "It was without a doubt the best thing I've done with my life so far. I am a better, stronger person because of this course. I am grateful and forever thankful for this experience."

    • Outward Bound was one of the most beneficial experiences I've ever had in my life thus far. I learned to take my time, be patient, make connections in places I wouldn't have before, lifelong friends, the importance of sustainability, and the sheer awesomeness of Mother Nature. I highly recommend any of these programs to anyone looking to enrich their lives. Upon completion of the program you will be entirely grateful for the life you live with a greater appreciation for the simple life.

    • Best experience both as a 16 yo and for what it did for my future. I'm now 33 and know that a lot of what I gained during OB is still with me today and will be forever.

      - Cara G. via Facebook - April 19, 2016
    • Loved this experience so much. I faced some fears and did a few things I never thought I would do. I repelled for the first time, slept under the stars and carried a pack bigger than me. It gave me so much appreciation for the things I do have and it was refreshing and cleansing to spend so much time in nature traversing land I'd never in my life seen before. Definitely recommend to anyone who has a chance to go out on a great adventure!!!

    • 28 days in the Boundary Waters in Minnesota were absolutely incredible. Easily one of the best experiences in my life, and I can't wait to do another one. Couldn't recommend it enough to other people.

    • Best experience of my life! Taught me to work as a team and find my inner strength.
