Oxbridge in New York Academic Summer Program offers high school students the chance to learn from world-class university faculty and experience one of the country’s most historic cities. Study for one month in Barnard College, an independent liberal arts college established in 1889 and affiliated with Columbia University since 1900.
The Oxbridge in New York Academic Summer Program enrolls students in grades 9 through 12 seeking college-level education in areas such as medicine, neuropsychology, government and politics, and international law. Based at Barnard College and Columbia University, the program features faculty from esteemed schools located in the New York area. Students can also learn more about potentially attending these universities during tours offered during the program.
Oxbridge began offering academic trips more than 35 years ago and has grown from serving 36 students to nearly 2,000 each summer.
Students immerse themselves in a Major and a Workshop for the month, choosing from options as varied as Advertising and Media, Fashion, Psychology, and Musical Theater, while discovering the city. Courses, meanwhile, are designed to take full advantage of the museums, financial centers, advertising firms, hedge funds, laboratories, and shows one can discover for which the city is so famous. In their free time, students enjoy activities such as a Major League Baseball game, a Broadway show, a trip to Coney Island, and opportunities to explore different.
Oxbridge in New York also offers a number of college visits, including NYU, Yale, UPenn, and more.
