    Overview

The Donald P. Bellisario College of Communications at Penn State University offers students a fully immersive, creative experience in our state-of-the-art studios for students to bring their stories to life. Led by industry professionals and experienced Penn State faculty, these week-long camps feature hands-on experiences for students interested in Social Media & Content Creation, Broadcast Journalism, and Film Production.

Social Media & Content Creator Summer Camp will teach students to think about social media strategically for their own benefit and unlock digital solutions to help real clients. Opportunities abound for the curious, driven, and creative in these digital times of TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. This camp features the dual focus of using social media to build a personal creator presence online and further a new business. Campers will learn from instructors who launched their own business and content projects, and regularly break down the basics as educators.

Broadcast Journalism Summer Camp offers students the chance to work in front of the camera and behind the scenes to bring news and sports stories to life. Students will work in the same newsroom and studio used by award-winning Penn State students as they learn about TV news and sports productions. This is an opportunity to explore essential broadcast journalism skills, newsgathering techniques, storytelling and more.

Film Production Summer Camp is a great fit for aspiring filmmakers! This camp provides students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in film and video production. During this week-long experience, campers will pitch story ideas, learn techniques to bring their creative vision to life, and experience the roles of writer, director, actor, cinematographer, and editor.
