Based in several small towns along the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, on this Care & Community project you will be working with your follow volunteers at care centers and kindergartens. You will have plenty of opportunity to work with children in a variety of ways.

Your role will vary from helping children learn the alphabet, organizing activities like arts and crafts, playing sports, or giving a child individual attention.

The group will also be involved with a practical community project, such as painting and decorating a classroom. This will create a lasting impact on the community that will be greatly appreciated by both the children and the local staff.

During your time in Sri Lanka you will live with a local host family, which allows you to be fully immersed in the Sri Lankan way of life.

Over the weekend we will take you to visit the scenic ancient city of Kandy.

For those who would like to volunteer for longer, this project is available as a four week program on select dates. On the four week program, volunteers will be able to spend more time with the children and learn even more about Sri Lankan culture. You will also get extra visits and activities arranged during the other weekends. You might visit Galle, the Dutch Fort, and Unuwatuna beach, as well as some of the local markets and a traditional Kandyan dancing show.
