    Overview

Students entering grades 5-12 can join us for fun, exploration and learning at Ransom Everglades, located on Biscayne Bay's waterfront. Choose between sports and academic camps, our signature Pine Knot Scholars program, and our brand new Makerspace Camp. We also offer a variety of academic courses for enrichment and advancement, including writing the college essay.

We are also pleased to announce the return of our highly regarded Camp by the Bay for chidren entering grades K-5!

Pine Knot Scholars Program at Ransom Everglades

The Pine Knot Scholars program is a 4-week, full-day program for students entering grades 5 through 8. Students spend the morning between two elected enrichment courses: mathematics, English language arts, Spanish, or Project Based Learning. These lively and experiential courses introduce students to foundational concepts appropriate for their skill level and prepare them for courses in the Ransom Everglades regular curriculum. In the afternoon, all students participate in “the third class,” which capitalizes on the campuses' location on Biscayne Bay and our history of outdoor education. Through hands-on “field experiences,” students develop skills in collaboration, bay studies, data collection and research. Finally, students end the day with an elective such as yoga, robotics, video production, or music.

    Makerspace Camp at Ransom Everglades

The Makerspace Camp is a half-day camp for students entering grades 5 through 8 who are interested in the basics of robotics and design. Students spend 2 weeks with hands-on project-based learning to introduce them to the skills and technologies used in designing and making gadgets and devices.

Arts & Sports Camps at Ransom Everglades

These camps provide students the opportunity to explore and advance their skills with Ransom Everglades faculty members, coaches, or community members. Camps are typically a half-day in duration, with 1-week or 2-week sessions. The age eligibility varies by camp but ranges from students entering grades K-12.  Camps include Costume & Fashion Design, Dance, Drama, Music/Band, Baseball, Basketball, and Soccer.
