The ROAR Academy is a rigorous and intensive two-week, online summer program for advanced high school students in California who have demonstrated an aptitude for academic and professional careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) subjects. It is offered in partnership with the AR/VR research center at UC Berkeley

The goal of the academy is to support high school students in their exploration of engineering as a career path and provide an in-depth, interactive overview of undergraduate engineering majors, programming, hardware and software design. They will be primarily learning about python programming and machine learning. Students will then be invited to race their autonomous driving agents and compete in the Summer ROAR Competition. Students will also be able to reference their ROAR Academy experience in their college applications.

Check out our website to find out how to apply and by when to apply!

Who should apply: Participation is limited to High School students who live in California and will be entering 9th, 10th, 11th, or 12th grade in Fall 2021. Students who will graduate before the start of Summer 2021 are not eligible.

Financial aid: For families who demonstrate financial need, the ROAR Academy awards full scholarships, and you do not need to submit an additional scholarship application. Please see the website for eligibility.

This summer program is offered in partnership with the FHL Vive Center, an AR/VR research center at UC Berkeley.
