    Overview

When you are ready to take the next step in your dance career, step up to Summer Session at San Francisco Ballet School. We’ll challenge you with a demanding program of dance training that will bring out all you have to offer. Summer Session provides a deep dive into ballet technique as it prepares you for a career as a professional ballet dancer.

Summer Session programs are designed to address the individual technical and artistic needs of intermediate and advanced/pre-professional student. The collaborative and supportive environment includes a curriculum carefully designed to provide the highest caliber of pre-professional training. The curriculum includes technique, pointe, batterie, and pas de deux classes. Additional classes may include repertoire, character dance, pantomime, and conditioning.

    We offer two program sessions.

Session One is for students ages 12–15 (as of July 1 of the program year) with previous ballet training. The program is designed to provide intermediate students with a deeper understanding of ballet as an art form, focusing on improving skills and strength. The curriculum includes technique, pointe, batterie, and pas de deux classes. Additional classes may include repertoire, character dance, pantomime, and conditioning.

Session Two is for students ages 15-18 (as of July 1st of the program year) with previous ballet training. This program is dedicated to advanced and pre-professional students and is designed to explore the demands of a professional career. You’ll be introduced to the unique repertory of San Francisco Ballet while studying technique, pointe, pas de deux, batterie and repertoire, and may include additional classes such as contemporary dance, acting, and conditioning.

SF Ballet School is looking for students who are passionate about the art form and motivated to pursue intensive training.
