    Overview

    High school students have the opportunity this summer to take academically rigorous, college-prep coursework at Seton Hall University. A pre-college program is a great opportunity to study a favorite subject, get ahead in your chosen field, or try out something completely new. You may even be able to study something not offered at your high school. 

    Taking courses over the summer at Seton Hall University in South Orange, NJ will provide high school students the opportunity to take courses on a real university campus, meeting with experienced faculty and finding subjects and areas that interest you. 

    Investing 101: Managing a Live Financial Portfolio 
    July 7 - 11 
    9 a.m. to noon  

    Embark on a week-long journey into the dynamic world of finance with Investing 101: Managing a Live Financial Portfolio. Designed as an immersive summer program for high school students, this course aims to introduce participants to the fundamental principles of investing while providing hands-on experience through the management of a real-world investment portfolio. 

    During this engaging program, students will delve into the key concepts of financial markets, investment strategies, risk management, and portfolio diversification. Through a combination of interactive lectures, case studies, and guest speakers from the finance industry, participants will gain insights into the intricacies of investment decision-making. 

    Participants have the opportunity to work in our state-of-the-art Center for Securities Trading and Business Analytics utilizing our Bloomberg terminals. Participants will have the unique opportunity to apply their knowledge by making real investment decisions, utilizing simulated trading platforms, and tracking the performance of their portfolios throughout the week. This experiential learning approach will enable students to develop practical skills in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and performance evaluation.
