    Overview

SOCAPA offers intensives in the arts for teens in three unique locations: New York City, Los Angeles and Burlington, VT. Programs range in length from one to six weeks, providing a place for young artists to explore or hone their craft in a supportive, creative environment.

SOCAPA students come from all over the world to attend intensives in the program of their choosing. Students can join us for filmmaking, acting, photography, dance, music, or screenwriting.  Programs range from introductory to advanced - though all courses introduce students to college level material.  Students attending for three weeks have the option to earn college credits.

SOCAPA's intensives are project-based and very hands-on. Students create original work under the guidance of faculty who work as professionals in their field. We work hard to ensure that the environment at SOCAPA is welcoming and supportive. Students establish networks of friends and fellow artists who they may continue to collaborate with long into the future. Students are challenged to step into the role of professional artist and show up every day to create the highest level of work possible with the support of SOCAPA staff and fellow campers. The results are always amazing! We share and celebrate all of the student work at the end of each week at a Friday evening showcase.

In addition to the incredible learning experiences in class, SOCAPA understands that summer is a time for fun and exploration!  We tap into the events taking place in our host cities, enjoy our beautiful locations, and create camp-only experiences during the evenings and weekends. Student safety and the student experience are our priorities - we do everything we can to provide programs that are exciting and educational.

I went to the SOCAPA in Brooklyn for a 2 week dance camp. It was an absolutely amazing experience! As a kid from a small town in Vermont going to the big city of NYC was scary, but SOCAPA did an amazing job making me feel right at home. The dance program was amazing and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
