    Overview

We teach kids as young as eight years old, in boats sized just for them. For the older and more accomplished, we offer trapeze sailing with spinnakers, keelboat sailing and anything that pops up when opportunity strikes. You do not have to be a St. Francis Yacht Club member for your child to participate in these programs, and we find time for giggles so a kid can be a kid.

    The Tinsley Island Camp

This once-in-a-lifetime sleepaway sailing camp experience is designed for beginner and intermediate sailors. Sailors will spend the week learning to sail RS Teras, RS Quests, Lasers and Windsurfers. Other camp activities and games will include kayaking, paddle boarding, land games and pool time.Tinsley Island camp runs Monday through Friday. Girls and boys sleep in separate bunkhouse rooms with instructor supervision. Camps enjoy three gourmet meals per day, prepared by the camp chef.

    The City Front Camp

Open to Novice through Intermediate level sailors ages 8- 17 years, these camps are one week long, meeting Monday – Thursday. This class is to learn to sail and build confidence. Sailors will learn rigging, points of sail, capsizing, tacking and gybing. Sailors will leave the class with a good knowledge of basic sailing skills. This is a great class for beginner sailors to build confidence sailing on the windy Cityfront while working on their intermediate level skills such as hiking out, close-hauled sailing and proper sail trim. Boats sailed will be RS Teras and RS Fevas.
