Steve and Kate's Camp is a world liberated from adult judgment and expectations; campers flourish in it. Teens in our apprentice program develop organization, conflict resolution, time management, empathy, patience, and communication through scaffolded activities, reflection, and discussions with a mentor counselor.
Apprentices will develop deep relationships with peers, counselors and campers all while gaining valuable leadership experiences. They will have the opportunity to: Guide new campers through their first day of camp. Support Kindercampers’ learning experiences in our new Launchpad program. Practice customer service at check-in or management in the camp office. Learn about food production and cooking by helping in the kitchen. Program is for teens entering 8th and 9th grade (or above) and the minimum time commitment is two consecutive weeks. While the Apprenticeship program does require at least a two week commitment, we still offer much of the same flexibility as with our normal camper fees. Buy any number of Apprenticeship Day Passes (minimum of 10) and use them during the time agreed upon with the staff at your local site. In the event that plans change unexpectedly, unused Apprenticeship Day Passes will be automatically refunded in full at summer’s end.
