    Overview

Climb trees, race through meadows, catch frogs and explore the Caves Valley woodlands. At Irvine Nature Center, nature activities are synonymous with childhood in summer! We engage children using outdoor fun to create pathways for lessons in nature and ecology.

Located just northwest of Baltimore, Irvine Nature Center is a leading environmental education center with 70,000 visitors a year. Our state-of-the-art, green building and 116 acres of forests, wetlands and meadows are perfect for students, families and nature-lovers. We look forward to exploring nature with you!

There are more than 40 sessions with trail walks, science experiments, nature games and crafts, and encounters with animals! Overnights and daytime aftercare are available with some sessions. All camp sessions are designed by educators, feature small group sizes and are perfect for the young and curious.

Young teens (ages 13-16) can apply for our Counselor-in-Training program and continue enjoying the summer fun of camp while developing early leadership skills. CITs must be available Mon-Fri, for 2 consecutive weeks.

Summer Nature Camp at Irvine is a Maryland state-certified camp. Irvine members qualify for reduced camp fees.
