    Overview

The Residential JSMC is a two-week, immersive summer program for middle school students (6th-8th grade) who are excited about doing mathematics.  The goal of the program is to develop young students into creative and critical thinkers.

The Residential JSMC Program is designed for students currently in 6th-8th grade.  The students stay in a residence hall at Texas State University during the two weeks, and attend classes every day.  Each group of four students is supervised by a counselor (undergraduate mentor). The program includes recreation in the afternoon, supervised study groups in the evenings, and special guest lectures.

At the Residential Junior Summer Math Camp, we nurture students' interests and abilities to pursue higher-level math courses and degrees and careers in math, science, engineering, and many other fields. We structure this program so that you will have time to bond with other campers, develop as a problem solver and researcher, and become an integral part of the Mathworks community.
