    Overview

Join a summer camp in Bali helping to protect the turtle population and experiencing cultural immersion through a combination of wildlife projects and recreational activities. Located on Nusa Penida, you will see beautiful beaches and experience the wonder of Indonesian and Balinese culture.

You will be working in our turtle conservation centre, helping to promote sea turtle conservation as well as sustainable tourism. The project was originally established over 13 years ago to take in injured turtles and protect their eggs, ensuring they hatch in good conditions. Most hatchlings are then released, though some are kept and supported for a while to increase their chances of survival. Depending on the time of year (turtles don't lay eggs all year round), you may be helping to identify turtle species, collect eggs, monitor nests or accompany baby turtles to the sea in safety. In addition to the project, you will take part in a variety of cultural activities, including visits to various outlooks and beaches, island excursions, snorkelling trips, bike rides, etc. This program is for 15-17 year olds. Included are all projects and activities, accommodation in shared rooms, return trip airport transfer, orientation and training, all meals, local transportation, dedicated group coordinator and 24/7 emergency assistance. Not included are international/local flights, any personal expenses or additional excursions and insurance. Travel and health insurance is required to participate.
