    Overview

UC Berkeley's Academic Talent Development Program (ATDP) offers challenging summer courses for highly motivated young scholars. For over 30 years, the program has invited students from the Bay Area and around the world, from all backgrounds.

Below is a description of the three programs that we offer:

SD: The Secondary Division provides accelerated and enrichment courses for students completing Grades 7 through 11. It is held for six weeks on the UC Berkeley campus.

ED: The Elementary Division offers exciting and immersive classes for students completing Kindergarten through Grade 6. It is held for three weeks at Washington Elementary School in Point Richmond (nine miles northwest of Berkeley).

Global Programs: International students have the option of applying for courses as individuals through the Elementary Division or Secondary Division. Alternatively, ATDP can design a program to meet the needs of a group of international students, like the program that we have designed for students from Singapore Chinese Girls’ School (SCGS). Our most recent international partnership is a program for middle and high school students from China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and India (ASSET) in association with CFM Educational Services.

Please check our website for application deadlines and apply early when possible. Late applications are considered on a space-available basis. Start an application online, download forms, and receive updates on the ATDP UC Berkeley website.
