    Overview

    Lynchburg Summer Scholars is a college prep program for rising 9th-12th grade students interested in healthcare fields. This weeklong camp will give you a chance to explore different health-related majors and fields, like being a PA, working in public health, becoming an athletic trainer, a nurse, a physical therapist, and more. You’ll also get to experience what it’s like to be a college student by taking part in campus life and student activities.

    Academic activities includ:

    • Providing care to a trauma patient
    • Body composition, assessments lab, and fitness assessments
    • International health and medical ethics
    • The cardiovascular system
    • First-aid and CPR training, and athletic training lab skills
    • Vital signs, clinical care, and the patient simulation lab.
