    Overview

    Opportunity for high school students considering careers in medical and health-related fields, such as medicine, surgery, dentistry, EMT/paramedics, nursing, biomedical engineering, occupational therapy, physical therapy, sports medicine, and medical education. This course will introduce students to the anatomy of the human body by attending lectures given by Stanford faculty, engage in virtual anatomy demonstrations, and explore how VR technology is used.

     

    Students are welcome to apply from any geographical location, but sessions will be held live (PST).  Curriculum includes: Daily anatomy lectures given by Stanford faculty; Anatomical demonstrations using VR headsets; Walkthrough of medical case studies; Lab activities on suturing and foundational medical skills; Guest speakers covering various aspects of healthcare with Stanford physicians; Special presentations on college and medical school admissions and paths.
