    Overview

This volunteer program gives you the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of deserving children. Additionally, you will also have the opportunity to explore one of the most modern and exciting cities in China - Shanghai. As a volunteer, you will be stationed at an orphanage that is located in a children’s hospital.

    Volunteer Responsibilities

    • Volunteers will assist with daily operations at the orphanage, such as spending time with the children, arranging games/activities, participating in activities hosted by other volunteers (art/music classes), and provide support during meal times as needed.
    • Practicing English with children and orphanage staff. As a reputable orphanage in Shanghai, the organization often receives overseas parents who would like to adopt Chinese children. Practicing English with the children and staff at the orphanage enables them to better interact with prospective adoptive parents.

    Requirements

    Participants must:

    • Be 18-55 years old
    • Speak, write, and read conversational English
    • Provide a recent medical report
    • Provide a background/police check to confirm no prior criminal activity
