    Overview

At Western Michigan University Summer: Music Camp, most students are involved in six class experiences daily. Chamber music making and private lessons for each instrumentalist are Seminar features. Enrollment decisions are based on a recorded audition and music teacher endorsement letter. Students in 9th- 12th grade may apply for admission.

Each woodwind, brass, and percussion student will receive one 30-minute private lesson and one 50-minute group lesson each week. String students receive one 50-minute private lesson each week. Piano students receive one 30-minute lesson daily. Singers have a 60-minute voice class daily for solo singing, individual coaching, and special topics.

Candidates may enroll as commuting students. They enjoy all program privileges (classes and activities), but do not sleep in the residence hall. Cafeteria meals and a parking permit are included.
