    Overview

In this course, the student will develop their essay writing and research skills by exploring their heritage. Students will write and share with classmates essays about their culture and heritage which will culminate in a simple research project of investigating their heritage.

Students will learn how to research a subject, how to cite information without plagiarizing, etc. The objective is to have students develop academic writing skills based in a subject which is pivotal to their own personal development—investigating where they have come from in order to look with confidence to their future aspirations.
