    Overview

Fernbank's mission is to ignite a passion for science, nature and human culture through exploration and discovery. The Fernbank Youth Interpreters (FYI) Program offers teens ages 13-17 the chance to engage in public events and education at Fernbank Museum.

Volunteers commit to at least one year and provide a minimum of 45 service hours from June 1 to May 31. FYI volunteers use interpretive carts to share knowledge about biology, archaeology, and paleontology, assist with camps, Discovery Days, Animal Care, and participate in special projects, including behind-the-scenes experiences.
