The Chicago Area Runners Association, CARA, is a non-profit organization committed to serving and advocating for the local running community. We are Chicagoland’s running club, providing accessible opportunities for all runners to train, race, learn, be social and volunteer.
Seeking volunteers for a community running program that provides free community runs in local parks. Volunteers are needed on Saturday's nearly year round from 8am to 10:15am.
'Go Runs are organized, timed, FREE 1 Mile and 5K runs in local parks with the objective of activating neighborhood parks, building communities and encouraging active lifestyle through running and volunteerism. 'Go Runs aim to become a core part of neighborhood culture, encouraging organic community engagement at, and long after, each run.
We are hosting 'Go Runs almost every Saturday at 9:00am from February to November. The location changes each week. Loctations include:

‘Go Runs are open to everyone who is interested in coming out to their neighborhood park to race, run, jog, walk or volunteer. Long-time runners, newcomers, families and children are invited to take part. The volunteers at each ‘Go Run are as important to the mission of the program as are the runners and walkers. Volunteers are not only needed to help support each run, but also to encourage greater community engagement at each ‘Go Run.
