    Overview

Our mission at HorsePower for Kids is to serve inner-city children, at-risk children, and any child that could benefit from riding, learning about, and loving horses. Studies show that interaction with horses can improve self-esteem, character, work ethic, social skills, and academic performance.

Volunteers are the backbone of HorsePower for Kids! The volunteer program is largely responsible for the every day operation of the farm. We rely on volunteers for feeding, animal care, cleaning, administration, and on-site daily assistance. HorsePower for Kids runs on donations that are collected through a variety of programs. Such as visitors, pony/ranch parties, field-trips, sponsorships, and special events/fundraisers.

Volunteers must be 15 years old or older. Children 12-14 years old can volunteer with a parent.
