    Overview

DC Public Library is currently recruiting for volunteers for several positions. The Library offers regular and periodic volunteer opportunities for ages 14 and up. Whether you’re new in town, a longtime D.C. resident, club, college student or library professional, we look forward to hearing from you.

Teen Volunteer (ages 14-17): The Library maintains a dedicated group of teen volunteers, ages 14-17. Teen volunteers play a crucial role at DC Public Library. They help create displays and booklists, shelve materials, assist with children’s programs, set up activities, photo copy library forms and much more. This is a great opportunity for teens to learn valuable job-related skills, help out within their community, promote literacy, and meet new people. High School community service may be earned at a local library depending on project and supervisor availability. Teens can complete up to five service hours per week.
