    Overview

Moody Gardens is a nonprofit educational destination that uses nature to promote rehabilitation, conservation, recreation, and research. The Society for the Advancement of Volunteer Youth, SAVY, provides students 14 to 17 years of age with the opportunity to volunteer within their community while gaining experience in a variety of career fields.

The SAVY program introduces teens to career fields like biology and education while supporting Moody Gardens’ mission of using nature for rehabilitation, conservation, recreation, and research. Participants gain hands-on experience, assist staff, and engage visitors in an inclusive, educational setting. To apply, submit a SAVY Volunteer application, a non-relative letter of recommendation, and a recent report card. Qualified applicants will be invited to an Open House and a personal interview.
