NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst: Volunteer Recently Updated

NYC Health + Hospitals is the nation’s largest municipal health care delivery system in the United States dedicated to providing the highest quality health care services to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity and respect, and regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. Elmhurst Hospital Center, a community hospital located in the heart of Queens, has a long history of delivering first-rate, comprehensive and compassionate healthcare services. 

Volunteers must be 18 years of age or older at the time of application. We accept 16 and 17 years old students during their summer vacation.

Volunteer service is important to our hospital and our community. Volunteers unselfishly offer time, talents, and skills to assist our patients. Whether they help in an office, a clinic, patient transport, or a patient unit, volunteers contribute to the overall care of the patients and to the delivery of quality health care services at NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst.

High school students interested in volunteering during their summer vacation should call the office for more information. It is best to start early in the calendar year in order to be able to complete all of the requirements for “onboarding.” Our summer program for high school students runs from the first week of July to mid-August.
