    Overview

The Perot Museum of Nature and Science exists to inspire minds through nature and science. The Museum offers hands-on ways to learn about scientific evidence, mathematical concepts, and natural history and will profoundly affect what and how our guests experience science and nature.

Our volunteers make a difference. We simply couldn’t do it without the dedicated efforts of so many. Year-round volunteers are the heart of our program. Teens are invited to apply for our special summer teen program. Each semester, college students and recent grads are encouraged to apply for internships. There are also opportunities for groups to volunteer together.

The Discovery Corps Teen program exists to foster student interest in science, education, and the Perot Museum through the contribution of student volunteer service. Teens will discover new interests in nature and science, develop leadership and communication skills, and earn service learning hours by engaging children and adults throughout the Museum.

For those wishing to apply for the 2022 Discovery Corps, applications for next summer’s program will open in January 2022.

Discovery Corps interview dates and program placements fill rapidly. Please keep in mind that interview spots are limited and function on a first-come, first-serve basis. Completing the Discovery Corps application process does not guarantee an interview.

The Perot Museum is a certifying organization of the President’s Volunteer Service Award, a federally recognized award. Those that achieve the gold-level award through service at the Perot Museum receive an official recognition pin, certificate, Perot Museum fleece, and a letter from the sitting President of the United States in January 2022.
