    Overview

The South Bay Food Initiative is a California-based group of volunteers dedicated to the eradication of food insecurity through monthly awareness and volunteer events. Apply to volunteer at upcoming events on the South Bay Food Initiative website!

The South Bay Food Initiative is a group of volunteers that works with organizations all over Southern California who serve those with food insecurity. Our group helps collect food items, sort food, make baskets, and serves food. Approximately 1.4 million people in Los Angeles County live with food insecurity. That equates to 16% of residents not knowing where their next meal will come from. Every month, the South Bay Food Initiative has food insecurity awareness events and volunteer opportunities. Visit the website to check out upcoming events and sign up to volunteer. In addition to helping eradicate hunger, you will earn valuable community service hours.
