    Overview

The Foundation for MetroWest improves the quality of life in 30+ MetroWest communities by providing financial and educational resources to local nonprofit organizations, sharing essential data about our region to inform decision making, and partnering with donors to help guide and align their giving with the areas of greatest need in the community.

The Foundation for MetroWest’s Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) is a 15 or 17-week experiential leadership development program designed to empower and educate local youth to become our community’s next generation of philanthropists. Operating 14 programs across MetroWest September through May, YIP is one of the largest and longest-running youth philanthropy programs in the country. By joining a Youth in Philanthropy (YIP) program you can make a positive impact in your community while teaming up with other students from across MetroWest.

Through the program students get to visit local organizations, delve into community needs, grant money to causes benefiting youth – and potentially fulfill community service hours! Completing the YIP program opens the door to a number of other opportunities, including volunteering as an Instructor's Assistant and internships.
