    Overview

Vermont State is a product of the 2023 merging of Castleton University, Northern Vermont University, and Vermont Technical College. The public university enrolls just over 4000 undergraduate students and over 700 graduate students across five campuses.

Vermont State equips students to change the world in positive ways as they engage with their immediate community and the larger world. This education is rooted in the university's community values: respect; integrity; student success; diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice; collaboration; sustainability; and continuous improvement.  Students have the opportunity to choose from over 105 degrees and certificates in undergraduate and graduate programs. Concentrations include but are not limited to Education, Business, the Arts, Health and Exercise Science, Nurising, and Social Sciences. No matter the chosen degree, students will have various opportunites for internships, cinical experience, and other hands-on learning that will undoubtedly enhance their career-readiness upon graduation.

The school spans five Vermont campuses in Castleton, Johnson, Lyndon, Randolph, and Williston. Throughout these campuses are various libraries, theaters, and art galleries for students to explore and enjoy, as well as residence halls for those who decide to live on campus. Vermont State hopes that students graduate ready to embrace their chosen careers and with a deeper knowledge of their intellectual and creative selves.
