Performance is at the core of every major at Eastman. For the Bachelor of Music, every student, regardless of major, must have a primary instrument. The Bachelor of Music curriculum is designed to provide the comprehensive training that is necessary to succeed in today's music world. All students will complete a five-semester sequence of Music Theory, a four-semester sequence of Music History, 8 semesters of large ensemble performance, 6 semesters of chamber music, 8 semesters of private lesson instruction, piano study, and 1 non-music course each semester. Career development, internships, and the Arts Leadership Program are offered through the Institute for Music Leadership (IML) office.
