    Overview

Manhattanville College was founded in 1841 as a Catholic college for women. While we have been co-educational and non-denominational since 1971, we remain committed to our rich tradition as a values-centered liberal arts college. The School of Arts & Sciences offers a broad range of majors and minors to choose from.

At Manhattanville College, rigorous academic preparation within a nurturing environment is matched by personalized attention to every student. Our close-knit community of 1,700 undergraduate students and 1,000 graduate students is diverse, representing over 30 states and 60 countries. At Manhattanville College, our undergraduate programs combine the intellectual strength and passion of a classic liberal arts education with the hands-on, real-world experiences you need to turn your passion into an exciting career. Manhattanville offers many Arts degree programs including Art History, Arts (Studio), Dance and Theatre, Digital Media Production, Film Studies, Museum Studies, Music, and Creative Writing. Our students also participate in over 50 social clubs, run a radio station, and engage in over 30,000 hours of community service each year. Many students also design their own majors by matching interests with courses.
