More than 250 programs that prepare you for the career you want. Interested in journalism, teaching, video production, graphic design, engineering, or astronomy?

How about studying international business, researching ways to improve health care, or solving environmental problems? No matter what you want to do—from learning to fly a plane to studying the biology of dinosaurs—you’ll find your right fit here. You can even design your own major through our Bachelor of Specialized Studies Program.

Love at first sight. That’s how many people feel when they first step onto Ohio University’s College Green. What makes OHIO one of the nation’s most picturesque campuses? Visitors talk about the welcoming vibe, the smiling faces and brick pathways, the classic architecture, the flowers in spring, or the squirrels jumping about the leaves in the fall. Students and parents visiting for the first time often tell us, “This is what a college campus should look like!”

A home away from home. OHIO is known for more than its beauty—it’s a welcoming place where new friends are waiting to meet you. It’s the university that fits who you are—and who you want to be. More than half of our first-year students choose to participate in learning communities, which group a small number of students with common academic interests into a cluster of courses. These students often form friendships that can last a lifetime.

Professors who are both teachers and mentors. Whether it’s spending extra time after class to discuss concepts or answering questions over e-mail on a weekend, our professors are approachable, accessible, and committed to your success. And the most experienced professors don’t just teach the advanced courses for upperclassmen. About 95 percent of first-year students at Ohio University take at least one course taught by a tenured or tenure-track professor. In addition, OHIO’s Honors Tutorial College offers high-achieving students the option of an instructional approach modeled after the system practiced for centuries at Cambridge and Oxford universities in Great Britain.

Adventures beyond the classroom. Whether you’re interested in studying the plays of Shakespeare in London or retail merchandising in China, OHIO students can choose study abroad opportunities around the world. Early on, students can also participate in meaningful research and internships, community service, or get involved in more than 500 student organizations. We believe experiences outside the classroom are an important part of your success.

Take the guesswork out of budgeting for college with The OHIO Guarantee™. For fall 2015, Ohio University is introducing The OHIO Guarantee, a unique new initiative—both for Ohio University and within the state of Ohio—that enables students to pay a single fixed rate that covers tuition, room and meal plan, and fees for four years. Fall 2015–2016 costs will be set by the Board of Trustees by the end of June 2015 and will remain steady across a student’s four years at OHIO. The OHIO Guarantee can provide significant cost savings for families, because scholarships and financial aid packages better hold their value. For more details, visit www.ohio.edu/guarantee. The OHIO Guarantee complements the OHIO Signature Awards Program (www.ohio.edu/signature), which offers a variety of scholarship opportunities for qualifying first-year students. Scholarship opportunities are also available to transfer students (www.ohio.edu/admissions/scholfinaid/scholtrans.cfm).

The path to your future is here. We look forward to celebrating your achievements—as both a student and a future graduate. Visit www.ohio.edu/you to learn more about the OHIO student experience. You can also schedule a visit or take a virtual tour of our Athens Campus at www.ohio.edu/tour.
