Computer Science
Design. Create. Code. Prepare for a successful career in high-tech fields, by building strong software development skills, an understanding of the design of both software and hardware and professional ethics.
Engineering Science
Get the best of both worlds—the specialized training of an engineering degree with the breadth of knowledge and experience that comes with a liberal arts education.
Now, you can study engineering without sacrificing the benefits of a liberal arts education—broad-based intellectual exploration, strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work on a team, and plenty of practice problem-solving in a variety of disciplines.
Mathematics
Train in deductive thinking. Solve complex problems. Deepen your knowledge and application of mathematics.
We emphasize problem-solving and proving facts using deductive reasoning. You’ll hone your knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, geometry, and properties of numbers as you learn about analysis (calculus), vectors, algebraic structures, and properties of important and sophisticated functions from areas of application. The BA and The BS degrees in mathematics prepare you for graduate study in mathematics as well as careers in industry, government, and education.
Physics
From the tiniest subatomic particle to entire clusters of galaxies, we look forward to exploring the principles that govern the universe with you at Principia College. We’ll set you up with a strong theoretical foundation, which you’ll need for experimental work. After progressing through coursework and labs, you’ll complete a capstone project in your major using your own original research. From the solar car team to the quantum physics lab, you’ll have ample opportunities for hands-on learning.
