Belhaven University is a Christian liberal arts institution committed to providing excellent Christian higher education. Located in the heart of one of Jackson's most picturesque historic neighborhoods, Belhaven offers a residential campus just minutes away from fine dining, quality shopping, and a vibrant arts scene. Since its founding in 1883, Belhaven has upheld a tradition of excellence. Under the leadership of Dr. Roger Parrott, the University continues this legacy with a Christian curriculum grounded in a biblical worldview. The distinctive Worldview Curriculum integrates history, literature, art, music, and philosophy into a chronological core for all incoming freshmen and sophomores. Belhaven University has garnered national recognition for its academic programs and affordability, and it holds regional accreditation from the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS). Additionally, Belhaven is one of only 34 schools in the U.S. to have national accreditation in all four of the arts: dance, music, theatre, and visual art. With 42 undergraduate majors and a 12:1 student-to-faculty ratio in the traditional undergraduate program, Belhaven fosters a close-knit learning environment where students witness the college’s vision and mission embodied by faculty members. For non-traditional, working adults, Belhaven also offers accredited online degree programs designed for adult and graduate students seeking a Christian-based distance learning experience.
