    Overview

The mission of The Juilliard School is to provide the highest caliber of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers, and actors from around the world, so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders, and global citizens.

Founded in 1905 as the Institute of Musical Art , The Juilliard School is one of the world's eminent performing-arts institutions, with college level programs in music (including jazz, opera and historical performance), dance, and drama. There is also a Pre-College Division, for children and teens, and an Evening Division, for adults interested in continuing education.
