The College of Arts & Media at CU Denver knows that talented creators and innovators deserve careers doing what they love. CAM leverages the real-world experience of acclaimed (and connected) faculty and the location of the college—in the heart of Denver’s thriving artistic, creative, and entertainment industry.
The College of Arts & Media (CAM) at CU Denver is the first college in Colorado devoted exclusively to arts & entertainment, studying the influence of modern trends on traditional art forms. Some of the top companies in the world, such as Apple, Pixar, Rolling Stone, and Disney, have hired our graduates. Others are forging their own way in bands like The Fray and Nathanial Rateliff & The Night Sweats.
The College of Arts & Media offers degrees in the following areas of study:
Film and Television Department – The only BFA Film & Television Program in the state offers students a hands-on filmmaking program with state-of-the-art cameras, gear, editing labs, screening rooms, and studios.
Music & Entertainment Industry Studies Department (MEIS) – The largest music department in the region. Offering programs in Singer/Songwriter, Music Performance (contemporary – rock, jazz, hip hop, EDM, pop, etc.), Music Business, and Recording Arts (Audio Production), this is one of the only music departments in the country with a contemporary focus.
Visual Arts Department – Eight programs that expand on traditional visual arts by incorporating the latest technologies to prepare students for exciting careers in the modern arts industry: 3D Digital Animation, Art History, Art Practices, Digital Design, Illustration, Painting & Drawing, Photography, and Transmedia Sculpture.
Located in downtown Denver, CAM is at the heart of Denver’s thriving, dynamic arts and music community. Our students intern at a local and national galleries, gig and attend shows in Denver’s historic music clubs, show their work in notable festivals, and enjoy the endless opportunities an urban campus offers. We think you could, too!
