This is a top-notch program with top-notch on site directors. Our family has participated in this study abroad program four times in all... three times with the summer high school program in Granada, Spain and once with the college program in Costa Rica. Everything about the two programs deserve five stars: host family experiences, Spanish learning, excursions, and cultural activities. The children all came home confident, independent, young people that are now eager travelers and of course better Spanish speakers.

    • Arcos was everything a study...

Arcos was everything a study abroad experience should be-a beautiful setting, dedicated teachers, warm and welcoming host families, exciting excursions, and memories to last a lifetime. Arcos provided a comprehensive and all-inclusive program that struck all the right balances-between work and play, relaxation and adventure, and family and friends. If you are looking for an ideal study abroad program, this is it. You simply cannot go wrong.

      Other thoughts and impressions:
-Costa Rica is hands down one of the best places to learn Spanish. The language is spoken slowly and clearly and at a very understandable pace. A language student's paradise!
-Believe in your ability to communicate and to connect with others. While the language barrier may appear daunting at first, that will quickly change.
-I loved my host family. They were absolutely great-kind, caring, and considerate in every way possible. They always took the time to ask me about my day and were always willing to answer my questions. I cannot recommend this family highly enough. All future Arcos students will be in excellent hands.
-This experience will undoubtedly influence my future life decisions and possibly even my career. As I was on a gap year, I had the good fortune of traveling to many parts of the world, and this experience definitely impacted my world view. It's hard to say what the future will hold, but there is no doubt I came away from this experience more knowledgeable and culturally aware.
