At EF Gap Year, we offer semester (10-16 weeks) and year-long (23-weeks) gap programs all over the world. All of our programs allow you to live abroad through a balance of structured programming and independent exploration. Explore Europe, Asia, Oceania, Latin and South America through a combination of guided exploration and cultural immersion.
23-Week Gap Year Program: Our 23-week gap year allows you to visit 10+ countries, build real-world skills, make lifelong memories, and return home a better you. This incredible year combines guided exploration with cultural immersion. Begin your international adventure by traveling to twelve cities across three continents with a cohort of like-minded students. During your second semester, discover what it’s like to live independently abroad while learning a language in the city of your choice or interning at an international company. Return from your gap year with a greater understanding of global issues, having discovered new interests and gained the confidence to forge your own path forward.
10-16 Week Gap Semester Programs: An EF Gap Semester is perfect for students who want to live in different parts of the world while gaining valuable life skills, discovering their passions, and building community. Destinations include Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Oceania. Combine guided travel, language and cultural immersion, service learning, or an internship in different countries to build essential skills for your global career, creating a semester as unique as you. Choose from a variety of programs that best match your personal goals, travel style, and destination dreams. Choose from the Pathfinder (Guided exploration across Europe), Changemaker (guided exploration across Latin America), Voyager (guided exploration across Oceania, Japan, and Thailand) or focus your semester more academically with Mosaic of Spain (Malaga, Granada, Amsterdam, Morocco) and Global Challenge Semester (Colorado, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico).
