Gain exposure to the different languages, faiths, and cultures that create the living history across the Straits of Gibraltar from Morocco to Spain. For students interested in exploring contemporary ties between North Africa and Europe while gaining valuable insights into Islam, migration, and Arabic language.

• Gain insight into regional themes surrounding Islam, women’s rights, migration, and geopoliticsBuild your fluency in Moroccan Arabic (Darija) with interactive classes with opportunities to practice your Spanish
• Hike through the stunning Atlas Mountains, camping out under the stars while learning the importance of expedition behavior and leave no trace principles
• Try your hand at rug weaving, shoemaking, flamenco dance, and stone or wood carving with local mentors
• Engage in conversations about the Moorish influence in southern Spain through food, music, and art to deepen your understanding of their cross-border connection
• Participate in tree reforestation and community engagement work outside of Granada, Spain
• Swim and relax on white-sand beaches taking in beautiful sunsets over the North Atlantic Ocean with nearby ancient Roman ruins
