The Schilling School for Gifted Children is a not for profit, independent, coeducational institution founded in 1997, chartered by the Ohio Department of Education, and maintaining membership in the Ohio Association of Independent Schools.Nationally, it is one of only two schools serving gifted students K-12.
We focus on individualized gifted education, embracing the "whole child" philosophy wherein the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual facets of a child's development will be nurtured. Our mission is to provide gifted education with outstanding learning experiences in a supportive environment that: encourages personal and academic excellence, provides intellectual, creative, and artistic challenges; and, optimizes student potential to be citizens who contribute in a significant way to their school community, to greater Cincinnati, and beyond.
Our curriculum is not bound by the common core and standardized testing limitations. The unique schedule allows for extensive elective offerings including 9 foreign language options available in all grades.
There are no limits to how far our students can go! Our instructors offer advanced classes beyond typical high school offerings when they are ready to expand their knowledge. Many of our Upper School students take multiple AP offerings each year and engage in collegiate level learning.
Class sizes are typically kept to 12 students. This allows for greater differentiation and individualization academically. Socially, students are able to form close bonds with their classmates that continue beyond the classroom.
