This trip was seriously life changing for me! I made so many new friends and my host family was very kind, even with the language barrier. All of the activities we did were very fun, and the freedom they gave us helped us explore Costa Rica! Overall I would recommend it to anyone who is ok with stepping a little out of their comfort zone and experiencing something new.

Our 18 year-old daughter attending the 2-week Costa Rica Eco Adventure program. She had an amazing time! The host family was so nice, the accommodations were good and the food was great! She really connected with her roommates and continues to keep in touch with them now that she's home. She enjoyed both the volunteering opportunities, as well as the tourist adventures they got to take. Her very favorite activity was the surfing lesson. The program keeps them busy and engaged. It truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience that she'll remember forever. We highly recommend this program.

I did the eco program in Costa Rica and it could not have been a better time. The community service aspect was pretty minor overall, and there was lots of free time in Atenas and during excursions to hang out. All of the adventure activities were super fun - whitewater rafting was a highlight for sure. The Arcos staff and engaging and easygoing, and the homestay experience was great (even if my Spanish is pretty rough!).

My daughter spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica on a service- learning/eco trip. The communication from the Arcos team ahead of the trip as well as while she was in country was great. We felt well prepared ahead of time and confident she was taken care of there. The trip was a hood balance of free/independent time and structured time. She returned with a deep appreciation for the culture and beauty of Costa Rica and made wonderful friendships while she was there.

I had the opportunity to do community service by painting the local high school's bathroom, marking trails and helping at the preschool in Atenas, Costa Rica. This trip was one of the best things I have been able to experience, and the program left room for us to explore the towns.

I could not be happier with our Arcos experience. The communication with the staff was reliable and consistent from beginning to end. My daughter felt welcomed and safe at her home stay. The community service opportunities were rewarding. The eco adventures were thrilling and educational. She made friendships that will last a lifetime and came home with a more confident and independent spirit. 10/10 recommend.

We would highly recommend traveling with Arcos. From first communications they were prompt and supportive, and we knew our daughter would be in great hands. Our daughter had an amazing experience and couldn't flaw her trip. She loved the community service and all activities and adventures. Even though she is quite well traveled, this was her first independent trip, and definitely won't be her last.
