Our Founder spent almost twenty years in fashion prior to launching Banson. She personally designs 1-5 day itineraries in NYC that complement the learning experience in the classroom. She and her team are dedicated to ensuring that students and their advisors get exposed to many different aspects of their field of study during their trip by touring major showrooms to meet designers, sales managers, retail planning analysts, production managers and merchandising executives.
Holland will lead a seminar teaching the students how manufacturers create budgets and implement assortment plans to place production for their companies in this challenging economy. Upon completion of the tour, students will have gained experiential learning to complement their classroom education, thereby enhancing their chances to become strong and confident members of the global business world upon graduation. They will have the opportunity to explore future internships and to network with potential employers, enabling them to acquire a competitive edge over their peers.
As an additional option, two months prior to the trip students may be assigned a relevant topic to research by one of the companies they will visit. Certain guidelines will be established and a company point person will respond to inquiries. On the final day of the trip, the participating company will give a tour to the students and allocate time for them to make presentations on the research topic. This will allow students to participate in high performance study groups and to showcase their talents and innovative solutions to potential employers.
Throughout the trip students will experience the excitement of New York City by commuting on subways and buses, eating at fun, non-touristy dining spots and shopping in some of the most incredible neighborhoods. The trip may also include visits to museums to see current exhibits pertaining to the students' interests and theatre tickets to popular shows.
Banson NYC is a full-service company devoted to creating an educational "real life" experience to inspire students to pursue their career dreams in the fashion industry.
