    Overview

The Walker's Workshop is situated in our fully equipped woodshop within the Visual and Performing Arts Center, each camper will choose, plan and build a unique piece of small furniture. Guided by two experienced instructors, your child will develop skills in design, measurement, construction and finishing techniques. Beginning woodworkers will learn how to safely handle tools, receive one-on-one attention and, at the end of the week, walk away with a finely-crafted piece of furniture.

Throughout the week, students will learn the fundamentals of design and personal expression. They will have access to a fully equipped woodshop, which they will use to design and build a unique piece of furniture. With the help of experienced instructors, campers will be able to safely execute their design. They can also expect to develop skills in measurement, finishing techniques, and construction. Of course, all students will prioritize safety and learn how to handle a variety of tools. There will be plenty of one-on-one instruction and help. By the end of the week, campers will come out with a customized piece of furniture and invaluable experience working in a woodshop.
