    Overview

Statistics can be an intimidating course.  But, this statistics program is not like any statistics class that you will take in school. This program is specifically designed to show students how math is used in every day life from the exciting perspective of sports.

Which teams are most likely to play in next year’s Super Bowl?  How has the three-point shot changed basketball?  Who is baseball’s most “clutch” hitter?  How do you rank a team’s all-time best players?

This class combines the study of statistics with the fun of sports.  Students will learn about fundamental statistical measures and will also extend their knowledge of secondary math through the use of graphing calculators.  While baseball, with its wealth of data, figures most prominently in our work, students are encouraged to bring their interest in other sports to the session.

This one-week summer program is designed for teens interested in math & computer science.
