Ever dreamed of exploring outer space? Now's your chance to be part of a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to design, build, and launch your very own satellite! Missouri S&T’s Space – The Final Frontier Camp offers an intense, hands-on challenge where curiosity and imagination take you to the edge of space.
This unique camp provides a perfect launchpad for students fascinated by space science. Using high school-level math and science skills, each camper will design and construct a small spacecraft that will be launched on a high-altitude balloon, traveling up to 100,000 feet into the stratosphere. Throughout the camp, campers will gain valuable experience in satellite building, testing, and tracking while learning from aerospace engineering faculty and students.
At the end of the camp, campers will be part of an exciting high-altitude balloon launch. Once the satellites are recovered, campers will receive real-world images and data from the edge of space—captured by their very own satellite!
Camp Activities Include:
- Introduction to soldering and electronics basics
- Learning Arduino programming and using sensors
- Designing and constructing the satellite structure
- Conducting ground testing and troubleshooting
- Understanding launch logistics and tracking
- Participating in Q&A sessions with Aerospace Engineering students
- Touring the Space Systems Engineering Laboratory
The wonders of the cosmos await, and this summer, Space – The Final Frontier Camp is your gateway to the stars. Get ready for a truly out-of-this-world experience!
Registration fee includes all meals, housing, and camp materials.
