    Engineering: Solving Problems Through Design

Engineers are experts in problem-solving. Regardless of their specific discipline, all engineers use a design process to scientifically identify and solve problems, drawing on both creative and analytical skills. Here’s your chance to explore the various issues that engineers address, and the ways in which the assorted disciplines collaborate for maximum impact. You will learn to “think like an engineer,” applying the design process to solve common engineering problems according to realistic case studies.

Medical Research: Evaluating Claims and Facts

What is the role of research in articles that make medical claims and share findings? Is the research conducted ethically? Does the media get it right? In this course, you’ll learn how to be a critical consumer of medical research. You’ll identify research methods and the importance of ethics in the field. You’ll know what questions to raise when reading traditional and social media stories about medicines, hear the perspective of both MDs and PhDs, and explore potential college majors and career paths related to medicine, medical research, and science.

Medicine: The Journey to Saving Lives

Are you interested in a career in medicine? What better way to get a glimpse into the medical field than by exploring an Emergency Department (ED)? In this course, you’ll get an inside look at the heart of the hospital, encounter patients as they are triaged based on their symptoms and vitals, and uncover how professionals gather information through tests and patient feedback to determine treatment. Hear from physicians from a range of specialities like neurology, radiology, oncology, heart failure, and more. Future doctors: this course is for you.

    Psychology: Inside Diagnosis and Treatment

How has psychology revolutionized the relationship between behavior and mental health care? How do psychologists determine specific treatment plans? This course explores answers to these questions and enables you to develop a solid knowledge base of clinical psychology. Delve into various psychology theories and approaches, discover different mental health diagnoses, and learn the process of assessing and treating mental health issues. If you’re intrigued by the inner workings of psychology, this course is for you.
