    Overview

    Pratt Institute’s Center K-12 is honored to offer an inspiring summer program designed for the best and brightest New York City college bound students representing high schools across the city. Pratt Institute Summer Scholars invites high school students going into 10th, 11th, or 12th grade to register for a two-week summer intensive program of studio classes and a college preparation curriculum taking place on the Brooklyn campus in July. 

    All Center K-12 programs introduce the strengths of an art and design education through a sequence of courses in art, design and related fields.

    Classes are taught by faculty from the Schools of Art, Design, and Architecture. Summer course offerings include: Drawing the Object and Drawing the Figure In addition, workshops and activities are offered to assist participants with their college applications and career choices. Past workshop topics have included: Keys to Getting Into Art and Design School: What You Need to Know; Preparing a Portfolio, the Application Process, and Financial Aid; and What to Expect in the Foundation Year The Summer Scholars program is for students who will live at home.
